St. John’s, NL – On Wednesday, June 28th, Galway Living officially opened its Model Home Information Centre.  Galway is a master planned community and is the first of its kind in Newfoundland and Labrador.  It offers the convenience of city living and a variety of housing choices with the quiet, calm residential experience of a small town.

“The opening of our Information Centre and first Model Home marks an exciting milestone for Galway, as we can finally welcome the visiting public to see our vision for this community realized,” said Danny Williams, President and CEO of DewCor.  “We have spent the past couple of years preparing the land, building the infrastructure and carefully planning to ensure that Galway is a preferred location for future residents.  Nestled within generous green space and beautiful trails, you will find beautiful modern homes with a real attention to detail.  We are so delighted to finally be open for business.”

Galway Living is a community where families can have it all; with all of the amenities you need just moments from your front door.  The benefits of living at Galway are beyond compare with beautifully designed and modern homes, maximum retention of back yard trees, underground electrical wiring, lush landscapes, trail systems, nearby shopping, golf and other amenities.

“Clayton is so honoured to be able to bring our nearly 60 years of community building experience to this great province”, says Richard Butts, President of Clayton Developments Limited. “In Galway Living we have a triple-A location, a terrific plan, an exceptional stable of homebuilders, and an excellent partner. This will be an outstanding community of which we can all be proud.”

“Since 2011, we have invested over $100 million on Phase One alone, creating hundreds of jobs and massive economic activity in the region,” added Mr. Williams. “But more importantly, we have built the foundation of what will be a true legacy community for generations to come.  I am particularly proud today to see a photo hanging in the Information Centre of the Galway Family – my mother’s family and the namesake of this great development.”

Galway is unique 2,400-acre master planned development that will consist of residential neighbourhood/industrial/mixed use business centre and premiere retail space.

Danny Williams was also joined today by Mayor Dennis O’Keefe and Commanding Office Lt/Col Paul Furlong and Regiment Sargent Major, RSM Nolan Will from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, in unveiling Beaumont Hamel Way – a main thoroughfare within the Galway development.

“It was important to me to acknowledge some of the history of our province in building this development,” said Mr. Williams.  “The anniversary of Beaumont Hamel is just a few days away, and it was timely to officially unveil the naming of this main street in recognition of the tremendous service of our veterans so many years ago.  We must never forget their sacrifice, and this street will serve as a reminder everyday.”
